Epoxy Resin Application

Nofia OL3001 is a reactive phosphonate oligomer that is highly compatible with epoxy based formulations.  Benefits include: helps maintain transparency, high thermal stability, acts as a hardener (crosslinking agent), excellent electrical properties in copper clad laminates, and excellent adhesion to glass and fillers such as silica.

Polycarbonate (PC) Applications

Nofia materials have inherent flame retardant properties and make it now possible to produce thin FR (UL94 VTM0 down to 0.1mm) polycarbonate (PC) compounds for film, sheet, and injection molding applications

Polyethylene Terephtalate (PET)

Nofia phosphonates are excellent flame retardant additives for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) applications that need to pass FR tests requiring permanent FR performance.  Sample testing protocols include: UL94 V0 and VTM0, NF P92-507 (“M1 test”), DIN 4102-1, ASTM D6413, NFPA-701A, ASTM E162 and E84, US and Canadian Rail standards, EN45545, FAR 25:853, FMVSS 302, and ASTM E648-99 / NFPA-253.

(Thermoplastic) Polyurethane

Nofia OL1001 is a flame retardant polyol oligomer that can be reacted into the polyurethane (PU) backbone via reaction with isocyanates. It is available in both pellet and powder forms.

Glass-reinforced (GF) Polycarbonate (PC) Applications

Nofia polymeric flame retardant materials are suitable for flame retarding glass-reinforced (GF) polycarbonate (PC). Nofia polyphosphonates enable the production of very thin parts with very high glass fiber loadings that still can obtain a UL94 V0 rating, while maintaining high heat distortion temperatures (HDT).

TPU Film and Sheet Applications

With the use of Nofia polyphosphates as polymeric flame retardant additives it is now possible to produce thin thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) films and sheets that are transparent and can pass UL94 V-0 and VTM-0, ASTM E162 and E84 class A, and the MVSS302 specification.

TPU and TPE-E Wire and Cable

Nofia polymeric flame retardants are melt processable, do not migrate, offer transparent flame retardancy to TPU blends, and enable smooth surfaces when extruded with thermoplastic elastomers.

Unsaturated Polyester Resins

Nofia HM5000 is a phosphonate additive that is recommended for use in unsaturated polyester resin (UPET) formulations. It is soluble in styrene and fully dissolves into the UPET resin.
